Biodirect Giving Back
On Friday, March 18, 2016, Biodirect was pleased to host a small group of students from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School's Biotechnology Program. They were working on a project for their Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA) group. The project involves showing the importance of the engineering part of the biotechnology industry in today's day and age. Biodirect believes strongly in mentoring and shaping the minds of future researchers and engineers.
The students met with Bill Thompson, Senior Director of Services, in our Lab and discussed the topic and asked some questions. They also took some pictures of Bill working on a Tecan EVO liquid handler. Bill, always the teacher, couldn't resist giving the students the opportunity to actually experience the topic for themselves by performing some maintenance on the Tecan.
Everyone involved had fun and learned something. The Biodirect Team looks forward to future visits from these bright, professional scientists and engineers in training!
