ACCOUNT MANAGERS - Scientific Lab Equipment
Biodirect Inc. is a leading supplier of pre-owned, refurbished and certified laboratory equipment. The company is experiencing significant growth and is currently seeking several Account Managers to meet its requirements. You will be responsible for selling laboratory equipment and consumables for use in molecular biology, tissue culture, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and analytical chemistry laboratories. You will also be responsible for:
- Manage and develop incremental sales through existing and new customers.
- Promoting excellent relations with customers and key decision-makers.
- Negotiating sales and general pricing within prospect companies.
- Developing and implementing pricing strategies.
- Conducting research for tender submissions and maximizing business from contracts.
- Monitoring customer service standards in line with company expectations.
- Providing weekly & monthly reports against set targets to the VP Sales.
- Forecasting and achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
Skills Required:
- Previous scientific sales experience desirable and in particular in the sale of capital equipment
- Good knowledge and understanding of the territory desirable
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter who is motivated and enthusiastic
- Strong Customer Service skills.

TELEMARKETING REPS

Telemarketing Reps will contact organizations such as medical, university, biotech research, stem cell research, pharmaceutical, hospital laboratory, clinical laboratory, live cell research, genomic research, military clinics, medical clinics, county and state health agencies to:
- Inquire about their laboratory equipment requirements;
- Introduce them to Biodirect;
- Look for sales opportunities that match their requirement with lab equipment Biodirect has available for sale. Preference will be given to candidates with diagnostic lab knowledge as well as proven sales experience. Candidates will work from the corporate office most of the time.
Skills Required:
- Prior telemarketing experience

SERVICE ENGINEER
Biodirect Inc. is seeking an experienced service engineer/manager for both field and in-house service of laboratory instrumentation; there are two positions available. Biodirect is a provider of new and certified pre-owned products.
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Biodirect, the qualified person will provide technical evaluation and repairs on various biomedical lab and research equipment using common hand tools, meters and testing equipment. Service is provided in-house and on-site to Biodirect's customers throughout the United States and Canada. Experience in electronics, hydraulics, mechanical and computer-based applications a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-house & field service, repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, & integration of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain & manage service records & documentation.
- Manage in-house service staff & field service operations.
- Provide prompt & professional telephone technical support & customer service.
- Provide product & technical training to new service engineers.
- Provide on-site & in-house product demonstrations.
- Maintain & manage service related tools & equipment.
- Product research & development/design.
- Apply & develop time saving cost effective service procedures.
- Apply & develop quality control & assurance procedures.
- Attend technical training courses & trade shows if required.
- Must be available for travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
Requirements:
- Degree/professiona training in Biomedical Engineering / Chemistry / Biology, or other related fields.
- Experience in repairing & maintaining lab equipment & systems.
- A minimum 3-5 years of industry related service or support experience.
- Previous manufacturer related service experience (e.g.: Agilent, Beckman, Biotek, Caliper, Kendro, Molecular Devices, Perkin Elmer, Tecan, Thermo, Velocity 11, Zymark, etc.).
Additional Skills / Experience Desired:
- Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.
- Knowledge in systems integration and knowledge of programming language.
- Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is helpful.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well under pressure.
- A willingness to learn various product & system types is a must.
