BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNT MANAGER - Massachusetts

About the Job

Biodirect Inc, located in Taunton MA, is a fast paced provider of strategic technology solutions in the Biotek, Life Science and Drug Discovery industries. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help us expand our business locally throughout Massachusetts, offering sales and service of certified pre-owned laboratory automation and instrumentation to various research organizations.  We are looking for a self-starter who is motivated and enthusiastic.

FUNCTION

Under the management of the CEO, you will provide extensive research to prospect for new business throughout Massachusetts. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in laboratory/research instrumentation environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of territory
  • Strong customer service and negotiating skills
  • Excellent written/oral communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Superior attention to details and follow through
  • Work independently but with a team focus
  • Work within tight time constraints and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Multi-tasking, time management, and strong organizational skills
  • Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CRM

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively develop Massachusetts territory to increase customer base and sales
  • Research existing and new business for to develop relations with customers and key decision makers
  • Visit existing as well as potential customers weekly
  • Educate clients about Biodirect; a solutions provider, guaranteed cost savings, warranty information, on-site assistance, sales, service, training and more
  • Create a sustainable pipeline of potential sales opportunities through onsite visits, outbound phone selling efforts and fast turnaround of incoming leads
  • Accurately forecast and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Quote all incoming leads as assigned, follow up and report activity
  • Attend weekly sales meetings, providing open activity reports outlining close rate and estimated time frame
  • Attend tradeshows and industry conferences as needed to assist in presentations, booth operations, etc.

SERVICE ENGINEER/TECHNICIAN

ABOUT THE JOB
Biodirect Inc., located in Taunton, MA, a fast growing, fast paced provider of strategic technology solutions is seeking an experienced service engineer for both field and in-house service of laboratory instrumentation. Biodirect is a provider of new and certified pre-owned products and services.

FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the qualified person will provide technical evaluation and repairs on various biomedical lab and research equipment using common hand tools, meters and testing equipment. Service is provided in-house and on-site to Biodirect’s customers throughout the United States and Canada. Experience in mechanical, electronics, pneumatics, and computer-based applications are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide in-house and on-site field service, repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, & integration of laboratory equipment.
 Maintain and manage service records & documentation.
 Provide prompt and professional telephone technical support & customer service.
 Provide product and technical training to other service engineers.
 Provide on-site and in-house product demonstrations when required.
 Maintain and manage service related tools & equipment.
 Research product designs and capabilities.
 Apply and develop time saving, cost effective service and quality assurance procedures.
 Attend technical training courses and trade shows if required.
 Must be available for travel domestically up to 30% of the time.


REQUIREMENTS
 Degree/professional training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Chemistry/Biology experience, or other related fields.
 Experience in repairing & maintaining lab equipment & systems.
 A minimum 3-5 years of industry related service or support experience.
 Previous manufacturer related service experience (e.g.: Agilent, Beckman, Tecan, BioTek, Caliper, Kendro, Molecular Devices, Perkin Elmer, Thermo, Velocity 11, Zymark, etc.).


ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
 Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.
 Knowledge in systems integration and knowledge of programming languages.
 Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is helpful.
 Organizational and time management skills.
 Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well in a team environment.
 A willingness to be flexible and learn various product & system types is a must.
 Military background is a plus.

INSIDE SALES - Midwest Regional Account Manager

ABOUT THE JOB

Biodirect Inc. is a leading supplier of pre-owned, refurbished and certified laboratory instrumentation and automation. Biodirect is seeking a Midwest Regional Account Manager (Inside Sales) to be responsible for driving the sales of laboratory automation and instrumentation to various research organizations. This role will be based in our Taunton Massachusetts headquarters. This is primarily an Inside Sales / Phone Sales role, with the potential for limited overnight travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop sales territory by driving incremental sales to existing and new customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers within the customer base.
  • Increase customer base through general research and outbound phone selling efforts. Update and maintain Biodirect's CRM database.
  • Create a sustainable pipeline of potential sales opportunities through outbound phone selling efforts.
  • Acurately forecast and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets. Provide weekly & monthly reports to sales management.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Previous scientific sales experience with the focus on selling capital equipment. Experience in a phone selling environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully achieving prior sales goals and targets.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter who is motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.

ACCOUNT MANAGERS – Life Science, Drug Discovery and Biotech Industries

Biodirect Inc. is a leading supplier of pre-owned, refurbished and certified laboratory equipment. The company is experiencing significant growth and is currently seeking several Account Managers to meet its requirements. You will be responsible for selling laboratory equipment and consumables for use in molecular biology, tissue culture, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and analytical chemistry laboratories. You will also be responsible for:

  • Manage and develop incremental sales through existing and new customers.
  • Promoting excellent relations with customers and key decision-makers.
  • Negotiating sales and general pricing within prospect companies.
  • Developing and implementing pricing strategies.
  • Conducting research for tender submissions and maximizing business from contracts.
  • Monitoring customer service standards in line with company expectations.
  • Providing weekly & monthly reports against set targets to the VP Sales.
  • Forecasting and achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

Skills Required:
