Service and Support

Biodirect offers a variety of services both in the field and in-house. We employ on-site factory trained and experienced service technicians from Caliper, Tecan, MJ Research, Molecular Devices along with others. This enables us to offer a wide variety of service & maintenance capabilities. These include but are not limited to the following:

  • Repair, maintenance, certification, & validation of MJ Research and other brands of thermal cyclers & real time PCR systems.
  • Maintenance, certification, & validation on most brands of liquid handlers, lab automation systems and most other lab equipment.
  • All equipment repairs are backed by a 30-day warranty on parts and labor used to perform the job.
  • On-site field support services including setup, installation, processing standards and validation, repair and preventative maintenance services, and onsite operations support.

Service Repair Process

Biodirect is pleased to offer quick turnarounds to your requests for repair and other services. However, for the absolute best response, please click on the link above and complete the form and submit. This information goes directly to our service department. Standard response time is within 48 hours.

  • For all inquiries regarding equipment repair, please be as descriptive as you can to help our technician supply you with the best estimate possible. It is likely that the technician will contact you and ask you to trouble shoot. Some issues can be cleared up over the phone.
  • We will supply you with a written estimate for your review.
  • If you decide to send the unit in for repair, you will be asked to decontaminate the instrument and supply the Decontamination Certificate with the unit.
  • You are encouraged to package to protect the unit and insure it with your carrier. Biodirect is not responsible for incoming damaged shipments.
  • Once the unit is received and upon evaluation, if the technician uncovers additional problems, costs, parts required, etc. you will be immediately notified and approval will be required before Biodirect can continue.
  • We will not return your unit to you in the same box if the box you sent is not suitable. You will be notified if this is the case. We can provide you with a box replacement at a cost.
  • Most repairs can be done within 7 to 10 business days, after receipt of the instrument providing parts availability. Expedite services are also offered at a cost.
